Hybrids & Sclerals

Hybrids & Sclerals Lenses

Hybrids & Sclerals Lenses are perfect for individuals with high refractive error. They are usually prescribed for persons with high hyperopia, myopia, and astigmatism. It consists of a central rigid gas permeable (GP) lens surrounded by a soft lens skirt.

GP lenses are known to provide sharper and crisper vision as compared to soft lenses. To optimize the wearing comfort of using a GP lens, the peripheral soft skirt provides comfort similar to the use of normal soft lenses.

Suitable for:

  • Presbyopic Patients (Multifocal Customizable)
  • High Astigmatism
  • High Myopia & Hyperopia
  • Irregular Corneas, Keratoconus
  • Post-LASIK, Post-Refractive Keratectomy (PRK)
  • Patients who complaint of lens rotation or fluctuation vision that comes with soft toric lens

Scleral Lenses

Scleral lenses are large diameter gas permeable contact lens designed to vault over the entire cornea surface. It lands on the sclera (white of the eye).

Sclera lenses replace the irregular cornea with a perfectly smooth optical surface, to correct vision problem caused by keratoconus and other cornea conditions. It is prescribed in patients with normal and irregular corneas i.e., post-refractive surgeries, and other cornea abnormalities.

Scleral lenses facilitate in improving long-term cornea health. The space between the cornea and the back surface of the scleral lens act as a fluid reservoir to provide comfort for patients with severe dry eyes.

Suitable for:

  • Presbyopic Patients
  • High Astigmatism
  • High Myopia & Hyperopia
  • Irregular Corneas, Keratoconus
  • Post-LASIK, Post-Refractive Keratectomy (PRK)
  • Patients who complaint of lens rotation or fluctuation vision that comes with soft toric lens
